*Income Tax Officers visit Arya Gurukul
For an Outreach Program to spread awareness

Kalyan: On the occasion of the 75th Independence Day- Azadi Ki Amrit Mahotsav, the Income Tax department has undertaken an Outreach Program to spread awareness among the youth of the nation. As a part of this initiative, Income tax officers visit various schools and educate the next generation about aspects such as what is Income Tax? How is Income Tax used for strengthening the country? How the IT Department ensures that citizens pay their taxes? The difference between Direct and indirect taxation and also how to prepare oneself to gain employment in the Income Tax department.
The 10th, 11th and 12th grade students of Arya Gurukul got an opportunity to interact with Income Tax officials to understand how taxation is computed, the repercussions of not paying taxes for the country and or the individual. They also shared the education they pursued, the entrance exams they appeared for and also the practical aspects of this profession.It was an interactive session where the students got a chance to ask questions and share their own experiences. The four officers who were present at this session- Mr. Shivjee Singh, Ms. Sheela Saja, Mr. Ajay P Singh and Mr. Rajendra P Mondal were present at Arya Gurukul on 17th August 2022 for the interactive session.
Arya Gurukul, a CBSE school in Nandivali, Kalyan conducts many programs and events that ensure that students get maximum exposure to real-life learnings. They follow an experiential and project-based learning method, whereby they interact, interview and observe people from many facets of life.
expressed their gratitude to the IT officers for such an eye-opening session.
Mr. Shivjee Singh who addressed the children expressed, “We are extremely impressed by the level of curiosity of the children and the ability to ask direct and valid questions to broaden their knowledge. We hope the youth of today understand the value of being tax paying citizens and the impact it has on the nation’s progress.”
Mr. Bharat Malik, Chairman of Arya Gurukul said, “It is a great step taken by the Income tax Department that they are spreading awareness and sharing their views and experiences with the next generation to make them aware of the ground realities that exist in the country. We want our children to be thinking beings and to know the life beyond the four walls of the classroom and a world beyond books and today’s interaction will definitely help our students.”
Mrs. Radhamani Iyer, Principal of Arya Gurukul shared, “Meeting people has many benefits, as children learn by interacting with professionals about their respective fields and can choose the right career path for themselves. Arya Gurukul is going to launch an International Baccalaureate Career Program and that course will be extremely relevant for the 21st century learners of today. Manthan 2022- an interschool art, craft and science event hosted by Arya Gurukul, showed that more the exposure children get, the more they flourish and become confident.”
Students of Arya Gurukul scored a 100% in the recently held CBSE board exams and the school is a Microsoft Showcase school.
